Mikaela Southey is a daughter, a sister, a partner, and a friend who is always up for the next adventure. Despite her adventurous spirit, she prefers experiences that do not risk sunburn – as a redhead the sun is her worst enemy. Instead, taste-testing a new food, swinging from aerial silks or exploring unknown bookstores are her preferred adventures – unless travelling is an option, then travelling always wins.
Whilst studying full-time, Mikaela must often remind herself to stop and smell the roses. The fast-paced world of uni life often hinders the chance to pursue her writing and painting. However, she is slowly learning to step back, watch the world go by, and sometimes jump in to shake things up a bit. She is a young woman with countercultural beliefs and values, with a passion for words and what can be achieved with them.
